Default Angry Peugeot 307 2006 Gearbox Faulty

I bought this car 2 weeks ago.
Since then, it happened to me three times... the Warning Indicator turn on showing "Gearbox Faulty". It remains on until i switch off the engine and it goes away when i turn on the engine again.
Last time, it accompanied a small jerk to the car as well when the warning light turned on.
Does any one know the reason?
Any Solution?

It it was from a dealer/business take it back and they can fix it under selling regulations (assuming you're in the UK)

Which engine is it?

The first thing I would try would be a BSI reset, it may help. Follow the procedure below:

Peugeot BSi reboot procedure

I agree - try getting it fixed by the dealer if you can.

If not, the first thing to check is the fluid level.

Also, the particular fault should be stored in the gearbox ECU - so get the codes read with Peugeot Planet 2000.

I assume that's the AL4 gearbox, in which case I made a long post on another board which may offer some help.

Link.
