just wondering if anyone can tell me how to find out if my car has a particle filter fitted please

Look under the cover on the bulkhead and all should be revealed:

Don't think he means a pollen filter, what car is it? all 110 bhp models have one i think. 1.6 110, it is the canister below the manifold at the front of the engine (top part is the CAT) and 2.0 110's it is under the car and has a heat shield on it.
Both types can be seen in the Engine section how to guides

I don't intend on coming across rude, but if you're asking a specific question about a specific car you really need to list more information about said car, we're not mind readers.

From the information you've listed I can tell you it has a boot, a bonnet, some windows, and maybe, and I'm clutching at straws here, four wheels?!
