Default 307 over heating

Hi all.
Ive noticed the fan dose not kick in even when the air con is switched on. I’ve changed the engine temp sensor. I’ve checked the fuse. The coolant is on max and there’s no leaks.
307 1.6 hdi DV6 engine 155k.

Its does not dose they are very different words

You say fan does not come on with aircon that would mean your aircon most likely does not work either.

The fan is an issue but its not THE issue as if your engine is getting hot the fan helps to cool it but it should not be getting hot in first place you have 2 issues to fix.

Fixing the fan may well fix the overheating in the short term but you need to find the real cause for the overheating these engines generally do not overheat.

Does your heater blow hot air ?

Could be fan wiring or relays.

Planet test would be my first recommendation:

Hi.
Thanks for the reply and sorry about the spelling.
Yes the air con works fine and the heater blowers do work.
Thanks.

Front bumper removal allows access to fan, relays and wiring if it comes to checking the hardware. The fan is two speed and hence two relays.

I was asking if the heater blows hot air not if the blowers work as if coolant is not circulating properly the heater tends to blow cold and this could be why its getting hot

The title of your thread is about overheating.
Is this when driving down the road or stationary with the engine running?.
If the engine overheats when the car is moving then the fan is the least of your worries.
If it overheats when stationary then the fan not working is your problem.
We need more information!.

Roger.
