Hey!

Car: Peugeot 307 XT 2.0 5D 2006, 180000km

Im from Finland so sorry if my English isn't that good. 🙂

Our Peugeot has started to make some weird noise from the rear. Kind of a rumbling and dragging noise while steering to the left or right.

The noise appears while going 30-60km/h and seems to make it when the tires are warm. So it took a little while to appear earlier this year when the weather was cold. But now at the summer the sound appears almost immediately when driving on the corners.

The sound started a week after we got our rear break discs (with bearings) and pads changed.

I recorded the sound:

Check the wheel nuts are tightened to the correct torque loading first. Then jack each side up at the rear and see if there is any play in the wheel bearing. Do this by grasping the wheel at 12 and 6 o clock position and try rocking it by pulling on one hand and pushing on the other. There should be no play at all. But take it back to the garage who did the work as it might be there work that is at fault.

As above sounds like a loose or faulty rear wheel bearing. It could also be that you have a loose pad that is rubbing on the disk
