Hello Folks...can anyone confirm for me which way up the battery goes
in the key fob...does the + side face up or down towards the pcb?
Or, are they not sensitive to polarity?
If it has a metal bracket that holds the battery to the PCB, that typically contacts the edge and positive side (edge is also positive , and the negative goes toward the PCB
An image search on google might give you detailed enough images for your style key to tell.
It's the 307 black plastic fob attached to key type with seperate pcb inside and battery bracket on the back.
Under the battery bracket is the large contact pad and i would have assumed this to be battery positive no?
Thanks for that....at least I have the battery the right way round ;o))
Today I took the key fob into a locksmith to have the frequency sending
checked and the 433Mhz was being transmitted from both buttons.
So, that eliminates the key fob from the chain of events.
Now we need to find why the fob signal is not being received by the antennae
in the COMM2000 and why the signal is not being sent to the BSI.
Other wise car starts and behaves perfectly normal.
I have been reading that due to age the pcb's ability to generate a signal diminishes.
I tried it through the screen directly above the wheel and inside the car directly
above the wheel and still no joy.
Right then....onward and upwards ;o))
