Default 2 button and 3 button key fob ?

i have a 2007 , 2.0 hdi station wagon. it came with two keys , a standard looking one and a flip key with two buttons on it. does the rear tail gate have a remote option ? e,g can i buy a 3 button key and just program it to open it ? or is it not that simple ?

My wife's 2005 307sw key fob locks/unlocks all the doors and tailgate at once. My 2001 Ford Fiesta does have a separate button for the tailgate.
A lot of cars I have rented in the USA have a system whereby you can unlock just the drivers door, the boot (or trunk as they call it ), or all the doors, and set off the alarm too.
