When a engine is cold it takes more energy to turn it than it does when its hot. As said before in this thread these engines are notorious for needing a really good starter motor!

Its a well documented issue its up to you to believe or disbelieve but from everything i have read on this thread it IS the most likely explanation.

I shall order up a new starter motor and try it, I have a Delphi diagnostics, what should the engine cranking speed be if it’s good,

well I finally got round to fitting a new starter motor, and its back to starting how it should, never thought a starter motor would get lazy like that,

so just wanted to say a massive thank u to all that helped, now to get the old girl in for mot and use her for work,

A 075 battery isnít the best for a 2.0hdi I always ran 096 or 100 on mine
