Default Possible turbo pipe leak.

Hi All. Going to make this clear from the start lol, im new to turbo charged cars. Traveling back from work yesterday, I thought it was time to open up the taps a bit on me HDI, and give her a clean out, cus its been stood a while. At around 70mph a whooshing noise started to develop, which I hadn't noticed prior to giving her a burn, and ive now got it through the driving range. The Turbo's been off (due to head work) and I know to the existence of two pipes. The Alloy one (which attaches via a 6mm bolt, with rubber sealer) and the black plastic one, which sits just above the subframe, and mounts to the turbo (I presume outlet) via a rubber tube and two hose clips.
My Question is simple I guess to anyone I the know. Can Either of these pipes, iff loose create this whooshing sound, or does it tend to just be the inlet pipe?. Many, Many Thanks. :-)
