Default Peugeot 306-Bad Idle

Hi

I have a 1.8 306 that is causing many problems.

The idle is ok for some of the time but most of the time it is very lumpy and trys to stall, in the end it does.

It also sounds like it is not running on all cylinders and also sometimes it feels like it is holding back on power.

I have been reading up tonight and I have read the the problem could be the coolent temperature sensor, the symptons I read were the same as mine, it has to be worth a go.

Has anybody had or done similar and could somebody give me an idea it it is straight forward to do, basics tips would be great.

Also, if anybody knows different, that would be very helpful.

Thanks

Martin

Personally sounds more like the coil pack is on its way out.

Hi

Thanks for the response.

Is changing the coil pack a DIY option, and do you have an idea of cost?

I know it's an old car, but once this problem is sorted, it have a very good engine and would like to get it runnig right.

Thanks
