Default Engine Management light

For a couple of months now i have been having problems with the engine management light on the warning panel on the dashboard flicking on and of. It does it with little consistantcy and does not seem to affect the preformance of the car. I have taken it to a garage and they told me its two of the injector valves causing the problem. They said they could fix it but even if they replaced the valves there is no gaurentee the problems would be sorted as it could have affected the ecu.

Has anyone come across a problem like this before its annoying the hell out of me. One day its does it the next its fine

Thanks, hope someoen can help
