Unhappy Electrical problems 306 1.9D

Can anyone offer advice please. I am having electrical problems with my 2000 Y reg Peugeot 306 1.9d
About a month ago it broke down after refusing to start, engine turned over but wouldn't start. A lot of other systems went down eg windows, central locking, horn, speedo and rev counter. Lots of unusual things. The guy who recovered it from the roadside said it was probably an earth problem. All off the earthing points have been checked and seem ok. Still have got these issues but have noticed that sometimes I can get car to start by putting on the indicator?
Also I have noticed that with the indicator on the electric windows and horn sort of work but only in time with the flash of the indicator!
I would appreciate any ideas if anyone has any.
