Unhappy Battery draining?

I recently bought my GTi-6 with a charging fault, I know the alternator needs replacing, however, if I turn her off and leave her for a couple of days, she won't turn over next time due to her battery being flat, are there any common discharges in these cars?

Well like any car electrical system If the alternator is not charging your battery will go flat It should be putting out 14.4 volts to the battery when running

Interior boot light is the one that foxes lots of people

The rectifier pack in the Alternator can fail causing power to drain through the Alternator when not used
Old Skool Mechanics and DIY'ers used to strip the alternator put in a new rectifier / Diode pack
Nowadays peeps just get a recon exchange unit as the alternaror drives from a belt which if it snaps can do major damage to your Cambelt

Talking

I've just booked into auto electricians, so I'll find out on Wednesday, I've heard that the cable connecting the alternator can perish over time, will keep you informed!

Then I can get on the track and go BWARP!
