Default 306tdi estate help please

Hello all,

i'm new to the forum, i will get straight to the point and make this short and painless as possible lol.

I currently have a 1999 e36 328is bmw in which i currently do 600miles a week with a weekly spend of 75 on fuel, i have come across a peugeot estate 1.9tdi lx model its on 141k and it had the cam belt changed at 90k.

my question is what are these like on fuel and when would the next cambelt change be due.

really want to cut fuel costs as i work far away travelling 120miles a day so need a good diesel with a good mpg.

thanks.

I'd say you'd get similar from the 306 or a diesel 307 - 600 miles out of a full 50L tank of diesel.

With the current cost of fuel you'll save about 10 a week.

My 307 costs about 65 to fill (Diesel) and on a run will return 600-630 miles from a tank.

This is a country mile better than my old E39 2.0 Straight 6. Was spending 80 to fill and getting 380-400 miles.

I used to commute 120 miles a day in my 307. Used just short of a tank a week doing 65 MPH on the motorway as traffic allowed. Used to cost me around 60 - 65 a week when diesel was 25p per litre dearer. Doing the same journey would now cost around 47 to 50 a week.
