Default 2001 306 2.l N5 AL4 no drive

A work colleague has gifted me his 2001 306 XT Auto. About a year ago he drove it home and the next day it would only engage reverse. I got the car started recently, and it still goes into reverse but no forward, no thump/jerk nada.

Fast forward I've run PP2000 diags no problems except for an occasional error for the 2 plug TPS. I've checked both connectors and the resistance changes smoothly.

I've changed the two solenoids in the AL4 valve block with new black Borg-Warner ones. Line pressure is good ~2.8bar at idle in neutral, 3.x in Drive rising to ~11.8bar at 2400rpm.

The oil has been flushed three times. The car drives in limp home mode, 3rd gear if I force this mode by disconnecting the TPS.

Does anyone have any ideas for me to follow/check. The car is in really good condition for its age and has been serviced regularly and has done 166800kms. I'm quite mechanically minded and would like to resurrect this car.

Help?

Jim

166k kms is a lot for this box it would be more sensible to get a recon as they are not that good a box in all honesty so at that sort of distance its all going to be tired.

Renault also use the box they call it a DPO but it suffers the same issues they dont age well
