Default variable valve timing

Just had my Peugeot 207 plugged in at a garage and that fault came up. Said it was stuck in high and low position?

Not since I have had it. I bought it last November. How would I no what engine it is? Peugeot or BMW?

Is there KFU in the middle of the chassis number? What year is it?

Yes it has KFU in the middle. It's a 2007.

Yes but check the valve timing first. Was there a belt done lately also?

How do I check the valve timing? Are they easy to replace? No nothing in the book says that it's belt has been done.

A garage will need to do it. There are a few specific pins to fit into the pulleys to time them up.
