Valve? Vacuum breaker? Filter?
Hi, so on Friday my Peugeot 207 1.6HDI started making a weird noise when switching off the engine. Also noticed that one injector had started to leak diesel all over the top of the engine. Replaced the o-ring on injector number 3. That solved the problem with regard to the leaking injector. But the weird noise is still there. Today I finally figured out that the noise was coming from this part circled in the picture, it looks like a filter or vacuum break but I don't know what for? Any idea what part this is?
My thoughts are that it sucked in diesel, and now it's making the weird noise.
Thanks in advance.
