Default Tpms coding

I have. 207 hdi 110 2008
I found a rear sensor had gone and ordered a sensor from eBay that was the same part number and frequency and which was stated to fit a 207 though Land Rover badged. It was visually very similar both on the sensor and valve stem The garage were unable to contact it using their handheld to code it.

Has anyone tried to do this or have any wisdom about sensor coding ? I have the old OE sensor so know what code the car is expecting

Sure the garage aren’t numpties and I know they talked to Peugeot - ebay seller demands removal and return for “testing” before refund

Mod note: Moved from tech section. Please check forum rules or sticky post in tech section.
