Default Peugeot 207 gt hdi 110 coolant temp

Hi all,

Ive got a peugeot 207 gt hdi 1.6, 57 plate. What the problem is, the temp gauge goes up fine when i drive, but when im stationary it comes back down right back down to the bottom of the gauge. The fan kicks in and the heater is nice and hot, is it something to do with the coolant temp sensor? If anybody could tell me whats going on that would be great

Thanks
Gareth

dont know much about the hdi but i would be swapping out the coolant temprature sensor first if its a cheap part, just check the wires to it are dry also.
