Default Fan blowing fumes into cabin

Hi. My Girlfriends 56 plate 207 1.4 blows in fumes when the fan is on. Is this a common problem? Id like to know were to look to troubleshoot the issue.

Its pretty much a base model, no air conditioning just an old fashioned slide controlled fan to control the temperature.

Any ideas welcomed.

Thanks.

I'd suggest looking for any leaks in the air piping systems and exhaust in the engine bay.

Thanks, mate Il look into it. How much do you charge for planet diog? I have another problem with stalling under low idle when the car is first started...

Cheers.

If its a HDI then there is a good chance that an injector seal is blowing, quite a common fault

I'd say petrol/exhaust. Iv never smelt it but she says when she's driving around with the blower on she can smell it often. There is another issue with it cutting out atblow idle. Whether that could be related I dont know...
