Talking Engine revs but i'm not going anywhere fast

Hello. Im new to the site so please hang in there.
I currently own a 207 urban 1.4 diesel, ive had had the lovely thing for a year now and its done really well. first car brought my new born home and so on.
ANYWAY over the last few weeks ive noticed im not not getting the acceleration i normaly do. the REVS go up and up but im struggling to keep up with traffic and get up hills. im having to put it down a gear or two just to keep my speed up. A friend of mine said it might be my clutch but i though i would ask you guys for help.

ANY IDEAS?????

Sounds like clutch dont let it slip like that or it will just burn out completely you need a new one but will need it even quicker if it slips !

It's the clutch. Change it before it goes completely and leaves you stranded.
