Default Dpf

Hi am new to the forum I've just purchased a Peugeot hdi gt 207 58 plate am wanting a remap but am hearing horror stories about dpf and egr being problematic do i get dpf removed or is cleaned a better option any thoughts would be much appreciated.thanks inadvance!

The DPF is there to prevent harmful particles entering the atmosphere, it is against the law to remove it and the car will fail the MOT if you do.
