First post go easy!
I've had Peugeots for a number of years now, all diesels and had very few problems.
I've just acquired a 2012, 207 sw 1.6hdi. My first encounter with a car that has a DPF filter. No problems encountered yet but I'd like to be prepared for the future so can anyone advise if any of the pp2000 gizmo,s on eBay are compatible with my car, there appears to be various versions/updates?
Or are there any other scanners that can at least display dpf information along with the usual fault reset functions.
Any help/advice appreciated.

Opinions vary on the version of Lexia 3 needed for particular cars. The general advice is to look for Rev C and full-chip - you will probably find that those are "reassuringly expensive" .

Some sellers offer older versions, but copy the listing text of the newer variants - they are generally cheaper. It's a minefield.

Only professional grade tools (i.e. 1000 +) duplicate Peugeot functions.

Don't go past version 7.57 as wont work unless you are connected to Peugeot.
This is who I got mine though.
