Default Bonnet Release Cable Replacement

Hi guys,

My bonnet release cable broke and l have acquired a replacement cable. As a DIY novice l am trying to remove the old cable but l am struggling to even squeeze my hand from inside the car. Any tips and tricks on how to access and pull out this cable
