Default Automatic gearbox in limp home mode

I've got a 2010 207 automatic which I've had for 4 years. In the new year the 'snow' symbol and 'sport' symbol came on and the gearbox went into 'limp-home' mode. The next day the car was fine. This happened three times. I took it to an independent automtaic gearbox specialist and his diagnostic tester said that it needed a new transmission switch, so he fitted a new one.

However, I still have the problem and his diagnostic tester still says that it needs a new transmission switch.

Has anybody come across this before??

Natrix , if you want to do a hard reset this is what you have to do .

Get on a flat road where you will not have to brake thru this procedure stop the car switch off ignition start the car and just put foot to the floor untill it changes in to 3 rd gear stop switch off ignition wait 5 min restart drive normally for 15 mins make sure you get it to go thru all gears before you stop again . this makes the car relearn the gearbox useage . you can only but try this and costs nothing but a bit of time but have had a few on here thank me for this advice which works for most people . if it does not work first time try it again

hope that will help you out
