is the chain quiet when cold? if so i would just get it checked and measured first. would also get the tensioner checked it hasnt gone weak.

should only be the cost of a cam gasket and a hourish labour.

took me around 6 hours to swap the chain on the vti engine, but it was very stop start, and spent a age loosing sockets, even lost the crank lock pin for half a hour at one stage.

Ok I'll get somebody to look at it. I want to modify the engine so I want to make sure it's safe to do so. Anything else I need to look out for. It's my first peugeot I've owned.

If the chain hasn't been done before it will deffo be needing done.

Where are u from? Ur looking at 240 quid for parts and then 6 hours labour at a Peugeot dealer or specialist.

Myself and pal have the full Peugeot tools and tech info and can do the timing in same time as Peugeot can, we are in East central Scotland which may be a fair bit from u lol

I was quoted 700 by my local arnold clark for my chain, guides and tensioner on my THP150. I'm guessing the THP175 would cost about the same.

I've just bought some warranty for the car from warranty wise. They cover the Chain with their warranty.
