Default 207 wont start with Braking System Faulty error

Hi,

Has anyone got any thoughts to why my 1.4 16v 07 207 will not start, its throwing up a Braking System Faulty when I turn the ignition but does not start? Oddly I drove from work 10 miles without an issue about 30mins earlier, parked up (engine off) got the family in the car for some shopping then wouldn't start.

May have to get RAC to come out and diagnose the fault for me, anyone got any thoughts?

Thanks.

economy mode does not stop a car starting and would not stop the beeping sound, all economy mode does is turn power off to certain things to stop the battery going flat, when you try start does the engine turn over and not start or does the engine not turn over

Popped the battery in and its still saying economy mode active, its a new battery (less than 8mths old) and its been on charge all night.

Intrestingly when I close the drivers door its locking all the doors! Really unsure whats going on with it!

Calling the RAC now.

you still have not answered all the questions i have asked

if the car beeps to say key is in then its seeing key
if car does not beep then its not seeing the key

i would unplug all wires at the back of the comms unit and then plug them back in (when plugging gray wire back in it should have a bong sound)
also check the wires for breaks when you take them out

Sorry its all a bit crazy here currently.

There are no messages relating to key in ignition when I open the door, infact there is no beeping when open door with key in ignition.

You say cables on comms unit, do you mean the ecu near the battery?

RAC read the codes n it came out referencing oil temp sensor, oil level sensor and intermittent speedo error, nothing ref brakes or battery.

Had it towed to a local auto electrics who should be able to look at it on Monday.

Appreciate the assistance dude!

comms unit is the indicator stalk unit and the transponder reader goes through this, the car is not seeing the key so either you have a bad connection or the bsi has lost its setting and needs setting back up
