Default 207 wont start

got a 1.4 08 plate been starting fine until today, tried to start it and starter motor just clicked over engine didnt turn,also notice time and date had reset to 00:00 jan 2004 ?

Check battery condition and all the earths.

Agree with renegade, sounds like a flat battery to me. Check that you haven't left anything switched on which has drained the battery.

Thanks for your replies, will check battery but can't think of anything that still works with the ignition off so will check earth wires.

best get the battery checked at a tyre/battery center, may have a cell gone down, draining the amparage.

other than that or a bad earth strap, had cars where the starter motor itself cause same symptoms.

If it is the battery it would also be advisable to have the charging system checked as sometimes this causes battery failure.
