Question 207 hdi gt turbo/sump

Hello,

Recently i have had my turbo replaced and shortly after the warning lights came on asking me to stop immediately. I did so, my car was to taken to a garage and they explained to me that the sump is dry which was causing a strange noise from my engine and that i would need a new engine?!! Is this the case or has anyone got any other options i could try before spending so much money?

Thanks in advance.

xx

If the sump was empty, that means there's no oil in it - if this is the case then it is likely that you will need a new engine

Worth filling the sump with correct oil to max on dipstick and giving it a go, you might be lucky!
You need to speak to whoever replaced the turbo, car should not be drinking oil after having a new turbo fitted.
