Default 207 Hdi 1.4 Gearbox/ratio question...

Hi there :-) I have a 1.4 hdi 207, hatch, that had a recon gearbox fitted after an input shaft bearing failure on the old one. My problem is that the ratio now feels, and sounds, all wrong with the engine revving at 3.5k rpm at 70mph and it feels like I'm only in 4th gear when actually in 5th... Is there anybody...... out there ( ;-) ) that can advise me on what may be the issue ? I'm guessing that I may have got a sw box by mistake, assuming that it would need a slightly lower gear ratio for the heavier vehicle ?! Or I could be completely wrong and there's something completely different going on.
Help ?
Please ?

I'm fairly sure they didn't put the 1.4hdi in the SW, but really you need to find the gearbox code (will be marked on it somewhere) to check it is the right one
