Default 207 Air conditioning not very effective

I have a 2008 Peugeot 207 Diesel. The air conditioning does not seem very effective. I had it checked at a garage and re- gassed not long ago but I cannot say that it has made a great deal of difference. I previously owned a vauxhall vectra and the air conditioning was so effective- it made the car "freezing" after a short while.
Any views, thoughts etc most welcome
Oscar

Other possibility is the cooler at the front blocked, my 307 had the same problem and after cleaning this with a pressure hose, what a difference, on 307 is located behind front grill.
