Default 207 57 reg non starter.

Hi all,
Having an issue with my 207 that seems to be electrical but totally stumped the RAC man.

Car was brought in for MOT. Went to pick up and car wouldn't start. Ticks over but wont fire. Replaced battery in key fob. Nothing. Fuel gauge showed empty (knew it wasn't) put fuel in and gauge went up to half but, still no start.

Called RAC who ran diagnostic- no error codes, checked fuel was coming through, checked spark plugs etc. No issues found. Disconnected battery, left and then reconnected. Still no start. Further check of diagnostics found 'Control System -Locked' but there were no error codes showing. I then had car towed home and charged battery to see if that would work but still no start.

Has anyone had this issue before or could point me in the right direction. I'm concerned that taking it to a dealer is going to result in me just throwing good money after bad as it were and considering I have just spent a few hundred on the MOT and recently taxed it I really don't fancy wasting more money.

Thanks in advance.

Which diagnostic tool was used? We recommend only to use planet or diagbox because they are peugeot/citroŽn dedicated, other generic scanners usually get incorrect codes.

Check these links and you'll find more useful info.

if you get in the car try start then turn off leaving the key in the ignition and open the drivers door does the car beep to say you left the key in

hope its something simple, mentioned before my old ford wouldnt start yet fuel and spark were fine, it would splutter a little from time to time, turned out it was the tensioner gone bad and the timing was throwen out.

something to check if all else fails. what engine do you have?

Thanks for the replies guys.

The MOT changed a bulb and brake caliber.

The diagnostic used was just the one used by the RAC what ever that is.

When the keys are left in the beep does still sound.

The whole system has gone in to economy mode so engine wont start. Have tried bypassing the computer by jumping the starter motor. This did not work.

Been told by RAC that it needs to go to peugeot main dealer and it will cost me!

Short of a bomb, what do you think I could try next?
