Default 207 1.4 petrol starter motor issues.

Hi Guys,

First time poster looking for a little help or guidance please,i do wish that my first post wasnt asking for help.

2011 207 1.4 petrol.

Wife was driving car and starter motor decided to engage itself, and subsequently burnt itself out.

Off to the garage...

I supplied a starter motor (Bosch) and it was found that the front fusebox in the engine bay was wet and full of water..

Front fusebox was dried thoroughly, and a new fusebox from Peugeot and starter motor was fitted.
Car was fine and and back to its normal self.

3 days later... It does exactly the same thing..

Starter motor engages whilst driving and burns itself out.

Any idea's ???

Hi, just wondering what happened to your wife's car as the same thing has been happening to mine - been repaired by the dealers 5 times but still no proper diagnosis. Did you get any resolution on it?

Thanks, Lyndy

The fusebox was the CAUSE the starter was the SYMPTOM.

Dealers should be well aware of the water ingress issues via the wiring on these by now its been happening for 10 years !!
