Default Buying a 2008 - 15 plate - 1. 6

Hi.
Off to view a Peugeot 2008 1.6 diesel tomorrow. Its a 15 plate with 40k miles.
I'm just wondering what these cost to repair? Are parts/labour expensive?

Don't think there is anything untoward with a 2008 especially with low miles. 1.6Hdi engine really needs at least annual oil changes with the correct oil as turbo small and works hard. Injector seals are a bit weak but they are relatively easy to replace.

Due to low mileage could have DPF issues if used only around town

Front shock absorber knock is a known issue on 2008, normally the nearside one that goes first.

What these cost to repair depends really on what you are comparing main dealers expensive regardless of what badge is on the car

Independents more sensibly priced but there are many garages that class french cars as rubbish so will not want the work so hike the prices to scare you away

As far as reliability goes electrics are the main issue that can cost money everything else just wear and tear.

As already said engine needs regular oil changes at least 1 a year regardless of miles if you want it and the turbo to last

Can second this. Had our front shocks replaced on our 07/15 reg car in March this year, 3 weeks out of warranty, and only 41000 miles on the clock.

Peugeot paid a contribution but still cost us 280.

That aside we use main dealer for the annual service and it comparable to what we pay our local independent to service our 15 year old Picasso.

when you bought on eBay kyaba shock(original to peugeot manufacture) absorber you pay 37 for shock absorber plus labour (60-80 ) on dealer cost around 280 include labour that's why its cheap buy new like this.
