Default Space Saver spare wheel

Hi, I just tried to fit the space saver spare to the front hub of my 2014 Peugeot 107 and it jammed up against the brake caliper, so wouldn't turn.
Anyone know why this is happening?

Spacesavers should, for safety reasons, always be fitted on the non-driven axle, not on the driven axle. If you get a puncture on the front you should swap the wheels over on that side and fit the spacesaver on the rear.

Thank you mooi1uk.
Having never owned a car that had a spacesaver before, I didn't know that.
