Default Brake disk and brake pads replacment

I wanted to post a short video about replacing the brake disk and pads on peugeot 107. I was browsing the net myself to check another videos but couldn't find for 107 so I uploaded one myself.

The left wheel started to produce some strange noise (like clicks) when driving.
I jacked up the car and started to listen the noise when rotating so I decided to replace the brake disk and pads (my first suspection).
It was the right think to do, the noise disapeared after replacment.

Where were you 2 years ago when I did this first?!?!

Good video, did you apply any copper grease to it before you put the pads on?

I didn't have cooper grease at the time .

To be honest when I did mine I didn't know about it so I never used it either. I'm redoing them over christmas so I'm going to be interested to see what different grease makes to them.

Did you make sure the sliders move ok disks last longer if both pads move freely could not tell on the video

I would definitely check the sliders and re-lubricate the sliders with silicon grease (not copper grease) and then apply copper grease to the brake pad edges that slides on the calipers. About applying copper graese to the outer surface (non braking surface) of the brake pads seems to be debatable. On one of the brakes, I applied it and on the other side brake I forgot to apply it and it made no difference. No squeel nothing! On the of the hardest job was getting out the small torx bolt that holds the disc in place. It had rusted but after a lot of WD-40 and coaxing it came off. The next hardest thing was getting off the bolt that holds the calipers in place (not the sliders). Here a cheater bar did the job. I have used Zimmermann German discs and Mintex pads. The older original toyota discs had rusted badly.
