Default Zest 3 Intermittent Cold Start problem

I have 1999 1.1 petrol Zest 3. Its been running fine until we had the first frost. Now some mornings when I turn the ignition key the engine turns over but does't fire. If i'm not careful, the battery ends up flat.

Give the car an hour and try again and it normally starts and runs OK. Someone has suggested its the immobilizer circuit

I really need a fix for this I need the car to be reliable so I can get to work.

Solved it - waited until nighttime and the temp had dropped. Lifted the bonnet and got a mate to turn the engine over and hey presto - I could see a spark arcing from the coil to the cylinder block. Replaced the coil and no more starting problems - runs sweet.
