Default Overheating Issues...

My Peugeot (1.1 2001 [51] Independence HFX TU1JP) is having major overheating issues. The fan kicks in after about a mile, coolant light comes on after about 2 to 3 miles and stays on. If I have the heater on full heat, I can get about 8 - 10 miles before the coolant light comes on...car is like an oven though even with the window wound down, so I cannot really drive it at the moment.
When I pull over to let it cool off, the fan takes about 15 - 20 minutes to switch off.
I took the thermostat out and did the pan of boiling water test for 3 or 4 minutes on the stove, the thermostat never opened or even started to.
A new one is on the way.
Fitting the new one is the easy part, but when I took the thermostat out, the coolant that came out with it was a bronze/rust colour, so I have decided on a full coolant drain & change.
The problems I have though are when reading up or looking at photos about the 2001 1.1, none seem to match mine exactly. So I could use some help.
1) Most places say there should be 2 or 3 bleeder valves. I can only find one. High, on the left hand side (drivers side). Are there anymore, and if so where?
2) Draining the radiator: I can find one valve at the top of the radiator to help with draining, but there should apparently be one at the bottom of the radiator. I have looked and cannot see one. Anyone know if there is one of does the pipe have to come off?
3) A few places have said it is a good idea to change the radiator cap & coolant sender therm from the side on the engine at the same time. Correct? I need to buy a spanner to loosen the coolant sender therm, any idea what size I need?
4) What is the sensor to the right of the engine on top with the blue clip?

I tried to post photos of the above but it wouldn't let me...

Theres one bleed point on the coolant hose which you see if you look to left and behind of engine (if youre stood looking in engine bay), its between rocker cover and bulkhead. Looks like a tyre valve cap.

A second is on the thermostat housing. 4 or 5mm allen head screw on top of housing, right of rocker cover. Follow top rad hose back and youll see it.

Third is on the top of radiator, end nearest nearside of car, on the end tank. Once again, look close to top rad hose and youll see it, black winged plastic screw, tough to turn, prob need pliers.

Blue clip sensor? If its on the thermostat housing its your coolant sensor.

For it overheat that quickly I would look at the waterpump

I second that, having seen some with broken impeller blades.

As for the radiator most of them don't have a drain tap at the bottom of the rad`,just remove the bottom hose. Mind you it could be a very old rad` so the core may be blocked up with crap.Flushing an old rad` is a waste of time,GSF can supply an O/E one for about 50 ?
