Default New engine

Thinking of dropping a bigger engine into a 1.1 106, any advice of what engine would be good and what else would need to be changed and what would be good to be changed, ie new ecu, possible break upgrade.
Thanks
Dave

Dont bother is the best advice i can give 1.1 has rubbish suspension rubbish brakes and is not worth the aggro also you dont say what age early cars can be swapped easily newer cars are harder due to the immobiliser systems changing over its lifetime.

Yes buying a GTI to start with is much more sensible or a saxo VTR/S as you then get decent brakes as standard
You can then go mental on the NFU engine and get 200hp from it

i would second that,i know someone whos building a 106 with a 2.0 vauxhall turbo in it,the amount of work involved is crazy for a car that is almost undrivable best off building a quick gti as reliable 406 says
