Question 106 1.1 Zest charging etc

My106 has been OK for 3 years, but I had 2 problems with difficult starting (OK after battery charge) so changed the battery for the winter. But after 3 days it has difficulty & I have to recharge. After a day,the battery reads12,7 volts with a multimeter and about 14,2 V on charge. After a run of about 10 milesI checked the battery again & got 12.8 volts, so it looked like bad charging from the alternator, but today I drove a few miles & checked the battery with the engine running - I got 15.2 volts (too high for a sealed battery!)
It looks like I suddenly have TWO problems! Any ideas
P.S. I'm a retired Electronics engineer, so dislike crazy car electrics - but don't mind replacing cambelts! The last time I was in the motor trade, I was servicing Morris 1000 Travellers (if you get a rear-end crunch, you call a carpenter!).

I would get the alternator charging rate checked if I was you.

Sounds Like two problems to me One is your charging at 15.2 volt and 2 I think 1 diode has gone in the regulator pack allowing it to leak back whilst stationary discharging your battery
