Default Rust on tailgate

Hi All,

The rear metal strip on the back (tailgate) where it says Peugeot has rust bubbles on each end. Does anyone else have experience of this? Seems weird to see it only there.

I am getting a local bodyshop guy to resolve next week but am curious if this is a common issue with the 1007. I might get a replacement one but am sure that would be super-expensive (unless someone knows a cheap place I can get genuine Peugeot parts).

Thanks

Mine has but I expected it to form somewere as I live near the coast and you can expect it if they use salt on the roads , because there is a high draft/vacuum at the back it sucks in dust and packs under that strip any dampness will eventually leads to rust, I normally use a jet of water to remove dust out.

Yes, the long bright trim strip can corrode, especially at the ends for some reason.

May still have the anti corrosion warranty. Go to a dealer.

got it fixed, except for one tiny bubble the guy missed at the bodyshop. Looks brand new now, cost me 80, incl getting the front bumper slightly adjusted because previous owner got it nudged by another car.

Very happy
