Unhappy identifying engine part in peugeot 1007 diesel

Help ... there is a felt covered box at the front centre of engine conpartment immediately to right of oil dip stick which is making a rattling sound. If you hold the fabric the noise stops .

any idea what this is and whether its serious .does it need immediate attention ??

I think this is the heat shielding for the turbo and catalytic converter. There are a few different fasteners that hold this in place. Did you recently get any work done to the turbo,catalytic converter or exhaust?

As long as you don't have black smoke from exhaust or loss of power, it is probably ok, just find the fasteners and tighten them down.
