Default Headlights on 1007

Hi,

My car has just failed its MOT, due to pitting/corrosion/crystallisation inside the headlights on both sides. When looking at the headlights the perspex is not clear, so consequently the fitters light test does not align. The main dealer advised to replace the both units it would cost 466.00 including VAT and fitting - ouch. This I cannot afford and do not want to pay anyway.

To purchase 2nd hand units costs a minimum of 120, plus fitting myself.

I think the headlights have a manufacturing defect, but unfortunately the car is out of warranty, 56 plate.

Can anybody offer a solution to this problem, or provide instructions on replacing the headlights using 2nd hand units, please?

Thanks in advance.

Nigel

Default Car MOT'ed at another MOT station

To clear this problem I had the car MOT'ed at another MOT station locally to where I live.
The main dealer at Basildon, Essex - Toomey-Peugeot originally MOT'ed the car and presented the problem of the headlights being corroded/crystalised. This check has caused alot of work and stress and suggests that something is going wrong somewhere.

There are aftermarket headlamps out there for 70 each, do some searching.
