Default Headgasket

My 6 year old 1007 2 tronic has turned into a nightmare , we bought it 18 months ago , 3 months ago it needed a new starter motor then last week the clutch went on it , when they took the gearbox out to do the clutch they have seen the head gasket seem to have some leakage there is a buildup of white crust around the joint . After just spending out 700 euros on the clutch weve decided not to spend more on it , the car has never overheated since we've had it and theres no sign of water in the oil , or smoke or water coming out of the exhaust . How long do you think it could keep running like this? , as we have another car we only use it for short local journeys . i have seen some additives that claim they seal the head gasket do they work?
Thanks to anyone that can help

"They" say the headgasket is gone. If i was you get a second opinion. If it never overheated or did anything else to suspect a headgasket failure just drive on. Don't worry about it.
