Cool Fuel economy & power ?

Evening folks. I have recently taken ownership of an '06 1.4 Hdi 1007. Generally happy with the thing but I would like to check with other owners what I think, and to find out if it is general or just mine!

1. Engine sounds really noisy from the outside but OK inside the car.
2. Seems to lack acceleration under 2000 rpm.
3. Fuel economy averaging 41mph local driving round town.

Anything as a comparison would be handy, as I don't know anybody else with one.

Many thanks

Got the same problem when buyed my 1007 1.4Hdi.
Problem solved with lots os KM high road, pushing it till 4000rpm to clean what needed to be clean inside the engine.
Maybe the guilt of this laisyness was fault of the lady that previously owned it.
Dont drive it all the time under 2000rpm, but always pushing 2500/ 3000rpm.
The engine need to be hot for better clear those nasty gazes that come of.
