Apart from the 308 SE , the family hack is a 52 plate Skoda Fabia SW 1.4 Comfort Automatic. This car is nearly 10 yrs old & still only has 18,000 on the clock. We have owned it for nearly 8 yrs & some age related ( not milage ) maintainance & repairs have been done. ie: New tyres, cambelt, battery, etc. Also new roll bar bushes, odd bulbs & a new air temp intake sensor. Its had about 4 services . Its not the cheapest 1.4 to run as its an old 1.4 VW 16v. It gets about 35mpg ( better on a run ) & road tax is quite high as CO2 emmissions are a bit old school. Although at our age we dont really need 2 cars Its worth more than its value ( If you catch my drift) . My grandson is 14 at the moment , so maybe well hand it on in a few yrs time !!
