Engine is DW8 Diesel 1900 cc. Problem appears to have started after I changed the Alternator belt (this is a power steering model)

Get the inlet valve clearances checked.. makes a world of difference..

P.S. are 1.9D partners really slow? It smy mothers car and although it now starts fine, is very slow.

I have nothing to compare it against, so all feedback welcome

Barry.

does it seem able to hold charge on the battery? if it doesnt i would say the alternator is not living up to specs and not charging the battery...could also be the battery.

an idea, more will come
