non starting expert hdi

Hello everyone

Was hoping someone could help me with some issues my father in law is having with his expert van hdi,when you turn the key the engines fires and runs but then just cuts out almost right away,is this an immobiliser fault? if so is there an easy fix? plus also when cranking the engine the red stop light flashes on the dash will this go out when the engine starts and runs? Any help would great as it would make me look like a great son in law if I can get it going again.

At a guess i'd say immobiliser or fuel pressure.
Has he got more than 1 key?

If it starts can`t see it being immobiliser , fuel related i would think .

No just got the one key so can't try another one,got the bloke who sold it to him coming round tomorrow to have a look and if he can't get it going will be getting him to take it back!
