non starting expert ?

hi all ,help needed .i have a 1.9 d expert van that always turned over slowly but started hot or cold ,turned over quicker when cold than hot ! however today ( temp -10 deg ) turning over a couple of times very slowly and not starting ..... battery was replaced in 05 ..... charged up during the day but still wont start ....is battery goosed or is it lazy starter ?

If your battery was replaced in 2005, its say its had its day.
Five years out of a battery is absolute max!

Pugs do not like a weak battery.

had battery checked and mechanic said it was marginal at 70% ,so didnt want to chance it so bought new one ,fitting tomorrow
