Default Loss of power on Peugeot expert e7

Hi Guys hope everyone is well, I am having nightmares with my peugeot expert e7 se 54 plate, and im losing hope it seems like the never ending story. It has problems with loss of power. Going up hill or up road i can barely pick up any speed it struggles, on motorways its very slow I barely manage 70+ and that too with great effort. The accelerator has to be lightly pressed for power to kick in and after a while it does, pressing fully down does not achieve anything. Occasionaly the engine management light would appear, maybe one a day or soemtimes two days depepnding how much I drive when It does it jerks.

So far I have had the air flow meter changed, tried a few different vaccum valves, and been to a few mechanics. One guy had it diagnosed by launch it read " Intermitent fault injecter one open circuit, battery too low harness resistance ", a few days after driving it wouldnt acelerate in the morning and was contineously jerking, a mate came and touched the injector wiring pushed it in and it was fine. Bu the speed problem is still there, i thought i'd get the injector reconditioned, or change the wiring but before doing so i thought it wud be handy taking it to peugeot. Today the dignostic was carried out, first he said the injector appaered then he cleared it and tested again and it dissappeared other diagnostic guys have done the same it keeps appearing eventually. Peugeot report read " Various intermitent faults in memory , turbo not working correctly, further investigation required to see if turbo is faulty or if a vaccum valve is at fault", I have also changed the turbo sensor. It does drink fuel id say but not awfully bad.

Can soemone please help I wonder if taximan pete had simmilar problems, I just wnat to get this sorted i dont knwo what to do.

I had a very similar problem on my boxer. It happened following an air filter change.
I took the mass air flow sensor apart, and cleaned it thoroughly with baby wipes.
Put it all back together with a new air filter and it's been fine ever since.

Wink

My loss of power problem was caused by the EGR valve.I would get no power in 1st gear, then in 2nd it took about 5 seconds to kick in.But after a good thrash,it all runs ok now.
I cant say if any dash lights came on as thats the area my cigarettes sit.

hello bob, had the same problem loss of power on my peugeot e7, my e7 would barely go over 50 mph and thats with my foot on the pedal right down...its was permanently in limp mode and sometimes the antipollution light came on too

took it to my local dealers they didn't have a clue, first off it was a wastegate problem, turbo solenoid, compression test showed poor results...they were just throwing a load fault codes at me, some fella with a 406 told me the lift pump are proning to fail on the hdi engines

so i got that checked out first, when investigating there weren't much pressure primary line(should be 2.5 bar), and also when i was told to listen out for the fuel pump if it was working i couldn't really hear it, i went about replacing it, when i was pumping out the diesel from the tank i noticed air bubbles in the fuel and also the rotors on the valve were not in good shape too..maybe from that cheap supermarket fuel

i had to replace the whole sender unit becuase the pump in the e7 is not serviceable on it own, it turnt out to be £143 inc vat with a taxi discount from dealers

Default hi Update

Hi guys

Thanks For your replies, sorry for the late reply, I didnt notice anybody replying as after i posted My question for a while I had no reply, since then I have updates but the problem is still there. Good news is the Engine management light has Dissappeared that was due to wiring around the Injectors being loose, I have no cut off's the expert E7 drives fine no problems on cutt off's.

I had the Injectors reconditioned, Changed a boost valve, had the Turbo taken out and checked , its fine. Now the Inital problem of only the power loss going up hill and general drive drinks alot of fuel. Once the boost kicks in I can do even upto 90 miles per hours, but up hill it is still sluggish, The accelerator has to be slighlty touched to obtain boost as fully pressed is like theres nothing there. Once boost kicks in it functions fine) Im so confused as to what it can be after so many things have been eliminated.

I wonder if this thing can be repaired, to much has been spent on it and I wonder can it be repaired?. Now there are no fault codes on any diagnostic machine. The last mechanic thought maybe its soem engine fault, Just what do I do anyone help please. Im in hertfordshire near harrow

It sounds like Craigjens egr valve was to blame, since he said a light came on the dash. They are £70 from cab direct, but mines cured after a good thrash.I also got an exhaust last week for £400

Whats a Good thrash ? in my language thats a good hiding lol, can you please elaborate upon that, Also I thought the EGR valve is to do with the exhaust system ie lots of smoke? and as already asked should it appear on a diagnostic machine cos nothing does for me on any machine.
