Blowing cold air is usually to do with heater valve stuck shut or open.

LOL. The heater valve is a part of the cooling system. Trace your cooling system pipes to the bulkhead where they enter the cabin, you should hopefully from there be able to easily locate the valve.

Doesn't every car heater have a valve to supply the heater matrix with hot water from the cooling system. If this gets stuck shut then when you turn your heater on nothing can go through and so no hot water to warm up the matrix.

My old car did which is where I'm getting the theory from.

Thats why your heater doesn't kick out heat instantly from a cold start, the coolant has to get warm first and then it gets fed through to the matrix.

There may be no valves on these cars if you say you work on em all the time and don't know of it, in which case surely a blockage would be the reason.

Basically the heater matrix isn't getting any hot water for one reason or another and that is why it will only blow cold.

Just seen the other thread, reason I didn't consider stat is cause I was thinking if it was the stat, eventually it should get a little warm and not be constantly cold, plus then the temp wouldn't be getting up to normal which OP says it does.

yes no valve on these, just the distribution flap in the heater box.

Ah right, that make sense.

Yeah sorry, haven't done much on pugs specifically yet.

Agreeing with Toddy here, check the pipes are hot entering bulkhead.

Could be that dist flap thats stuck then in that case
